"Subtropical Garden" greenhouse showcases some rare subtropical plants and the
wild plants of Jeju Island. The underground world of Hyeopjae and
Ssangyong lava caves, designated as Natural Monument No. 236, will amaze
you!
At the "Jeju Stone and Bonsai Garden", you can see a large collection of
bonsai |
trees and unique natural stones from all over the world.
The "Jaeam
Folk Village" is a small-scale reproduction of Jeju Island traditional way of
life.
The flower festivals display different kinds of flowers and rare plants
in all four seasons.

Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls
|
|
|
According to a legend, Cheonjeyon Falls means "the pond of God" where nymphs
descend to take a bath. The first cascade of Cheonjeyon Falls is 22 m high and
the water forms a pond 21 m in depth. The water flows farther along to form the
second cascade of 30 m high. Up from Cheonjeyon Falls is the stunning arch
bridge Seonimkyo, which is also called Seven Nymphs Bridge.
Water springs
from a spot between the precipice of the waterfall and the lower clay layer.
From the ceiling of a cave located east of the first waterfall, the |
water drops
and grows into several streams of water.
Since it is gushing out of stony
ground, the water has been used for curing diseases as well as for drinking.
From ancient times, people have believed that they can recover from any disease
if they stand under a waterfall on either the Buddhist All Souls Day or Cheoseo
Day (at the end of August).

The island was named "Udo"
or "Cow Island" as its contours
look like a cow lying down on the ground.
There are 8 scenic wonders of Udo: day
and night(Jugan-myeongwol and Yahang-eobeom),
sky and earth (Cheonjin-gwansan and Jidu-cheongsa),
front and back (Jeonpo-mangdo and Huhae-seokbyeok),
east and west (Dongan-gyeonggul and Seobin-baeksa).
The movie "In October" and
"The mermaid" were shot at Cow
Island, capitalizing on its picturesque
scene of a fishing village and a lush, peaceful
grassy field. The white sand beach facing
the indigo and turquoise sea of Jeju is
very impressive.
It represents another
eye-catcher along with Mt. Halla in Jeju
